Hamilton, the lovely port city of Canada has always fascinated me, Dr. Parag Vora. My entire student life has spent in Hamilton’s McMaster University and travelling around the beautiful city. In my past blogs I have talked with you about my travel journeys, sometimes radiology and not to forget, the city where I live. Today, Doctor Parag Vora will share about his love for Hamilton. For those who love visuals, here’s a video blog.

Introducing Parag Vora’s Hamilton

Dr. Parag Voral loves to explore Hamilton and what’s better to study history to get a know how of your favourite place.

Hamilton, where I, Doctor Parag reside is an industrialized city in the Golden Horseshoe at the west end of Lake Ontario. Hamilton has a population of 536,917, and its metropolitan area, which includes Burlington and Grimsby, has a population of 747,545. The city is about 60 km (40 miles) southwest of Toronto, with which the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) is formed.

Do you know? On January 1, 2001, the current boundaries of Hamilton was created through the amalgamation of the original city with other municipalities of the Regional Municipality of Hamilton-Wentworth.

Parag Loves Hamilton’s Climate

Dr. Vora loves everything about the beautiful city of Hamilton. Climate here is humid-continental and is characterized by changeable weather patterns. As compared to Canada, Hamilton’s climate is moderate, that’s what Parag Vora loves the most.

The highest temperature ever recorded in Hamilton was 41.1 °C (106 °F) on 14 July 1868. The coldest temperature ever recorded was -30.6 °C (-23 °F) on 25 January 1884. Chilling, no?
